A design that pays tribute to Ferrand’s expertise
Have you noticed the hammered effect that characterizes our new bottle?
At Ferrand, we control every stage of crafting our cognac: from tending the vines to distillation, aging, and blending. Nothing is left to chance.

This diligent attention to detail is reflected in our new bottle, with its hammered effect upon the glass, a nod to the 19th-century copper stills of old, iconic in the Cognac region. This artisanal process strengthens the copper and enhances contact between the copper and vapours, helping eliminate unwanted compounds.
At Maison Ferrand, we have our own coppersmith, Gaylord Urbain, who works daily to bring our old stills from the collection of Alexandre Gabriel back to life.
The wooden stopper, styled on a barrel, highlights the final and most critical stage of aging, when our cognacs develop depth, complexity, and a delicious character. This stage becomes even more significant when double maturation occurs.
This new bottle brings together all our expertise and pays tribute to the teams who work tirelessly each day to offer cognacs where tradition meets innovation. Each label will highlight a particular facet of the cognac it adorns.
Three cognacs in the spotlight
Three of our flagship expressions feature this new bottle and updated labels.
1840 Original Formula, our ideal cognac for mixology, still displays architectural details in a style typical of the 19th century, the golden age of cognac cocktails. At the heart of this design, our two cherubs keep their rightful place: armed with their straws, they sip a cocktail, recalling the famous angel’s share—the cognac that slowly evaporates during aging, lost to the angels in the chai!

Ambré, a rare cognac, owes its identity to the blending of Ugni Blanc and Colombard, a grape variety nearly forgotten after the phylloxera crisis, as when vineyards were replanted, other varieties were favoured. Reintroducing this original grape opens the door to new expressions of cognac, enhancing floral and fruity aromas.
We wanted to highlight our winegrowers’ work through the vine leaf adorning the label.

Double Cask Réserve revives a long-forgotten tradition of double aging, a field in which the Ferrand teams excel. After a first maturation in French oak barrels, the spirit is transferred to casks that once held Pedro Ximenez, imparting notes of dark chocolate, spices, and honey.
The two casks depicted on the label reflect this, while the portrait of Elie Ferrand VIII honours his role as a pioneer of aging techniques. The interlacing vines and branches of the tree of life symbolize the roots of the Ferrand family and the deep connection between the brand and the Cognac region.

Beyond its contemporary design, this bottle embodies our genuine commitment to the environment. Lighter in weight, it reduces by an average of 10% the amount of glass used in our bottles, thereby limiting our ecological footprint.
As winegrowers—and therefore farmers—we know how precious the land is. Preserving this heritage is at the heart of our work and guides each of our decisions. With that goal in mind, we've also decided to stop offering Ambré in a box, reaffirming our commitment to pairing refinement with responsibility.
It’s now up to you to make these new bottles your own. For us they highlight the principles we hold dear, bringing together craftsmanship, winegrowing, and shared values.
