Indeed, for its creation, Alexandre Gabriel carefully selected rums from four emblematic origins of the Caribbean, specifically 43% from Barbados (Stade's West Indies Rum Distillery), 36% from Trinidad (Trinidad Distillers Ltd.), 17% from Guyana and 4% from Jamaica (National Rums of Jamaica).

This audacious blend thus captures the soul of the region, in all its diversity, with each component bringing its unique signature. Whether it's the roundness of Barbados, the finesse of Trinidad, the power of Guyana, or the exotic notes of Jamaica, the blending of these great terroirs gives birth to a rum of exceptional and captivating complexity and aromatic richness.

Unparalleled dynamic aging

True to the spirit of adventure that drives Planteray, Mister Fogg Navy Rum has benefited from a unique maturation process, reflecting the seven historical pillars of Navy Rums identified in the new book by Alexandre Gabriel and Matt Pietrek, "Exploring 300 Years of Royal Navy Rum and Its Techniques", which we previously told you about.

The rums were first aged in bourbon barrels in their countries of origin, before embarking on a journey to Cognac. This maritime voyage to the southwest of France was not a simple transport: it was an integral part of the process, which allowed for replicating the traditional dynamic aging of Navy rums.

Once arrived in France, our precious nectar continued its maturation in large open wooden vats, strategically placed along the banks of the Charente River. This intensive oxygenation technique (i.e. "Navy Active Vatting"), combined with the ambient humidity, allowed for refining the aromas and bringing exceptional roundness.

The result? A rum of unparalleled depth and complexity, true to the spirit of great Navy Rums, while appealing to modern palates.
